My New Approach

In my previous post I explained that I’m changing my approach in terms of building Squidoo lenses. On recommendation of Tiffany Dow, who published the Best Squidoo Guide you can get, I had a look at the strategies outlined in Craig Kaye’s Info Product Killer guide.

The guide is a bit of a paradox! It’s an info product, killing info products! And it works! It’s just that up until now I’ve never taken this step before, but it makes sense… let me explain:

When people are buying stuff online – where do they go – and what do they look for? This is the question we as internet marketers need to get our head around. Are they going to go and read through 15 pages of sales letter for a downloadable e-book on clickbank (I’ve promoted a lot of them for next to no reward), or do they go to places like Amazon, eBay and other major online retailers?

My bet is on the latter!

Yes! You can get a $57.99 commission from selling one e-book from ClickBank, while most products elsewhere (such as cuddly toys on Amazon) will pay you less than $1.00. But there’s a difference, my friend! The difference lies in volume of sales!

In the time it will take you to get the $57.99 commission from selling an e-book, you could have sold and got commission from 100 sales off Amazon by building equally targeted and keyword optimised lenses on Squidoo. If we assume that every one of those 100 customers would have bought enough products to qualify for the free shipping, you would have shifted $2,500.00 worth of products, netting you at least $125.00 in commission!

Now – tell me which one you’d rather have? E-book $57.99? Amazon $125.00? For the same amount of effort! It’s a hard one – isn’t it?

Although the Info Killer Product Guide teaches you to build, and utilize their strategies by building websites, the tactics outlined works a treat with Squidoo as well.
